Notice Permissions

Notice permissions allow you to make a notice available to specific accounts, or a group of accounts.

You are able to control the visibility of notices by using our 'Permissions' system. You can find these options in the widget to the right of the page when editing a notice.

The platform provides three different types of permissions, as seen below.

Public

If your app has its access model set to public (see here for more information on access models), this will be the default option. The notice will be visible to everyone.

Account Required

If your profile access model is default, you can select account required to make a notice available to all app users who have a registered account. This notice will not be shown to everyone.

Custom

Applying custom permissions to a notice allows you to restrict the notice to specific people or groups. This means that, when published, this notice will only be visible for, and send a notification to, the people/groups set in your permissions.
Here's how to apply custom permissions to a notice:

  1. When in the notice editor, take a look at the App Options widget (to the right of the page by default). Here you will see the 'Permissions' section.

  2. Select 'Customise' and you will be presented with the following pop-up:

3. With this pop-up, you can select groups or people. It is recommended you create a group if you want to give access to more than 10 people.

4. Start typing the name of a group or person and select the correct group or person.
โ€‹Note: You can assign up to 100 groups per notice.

5. Save your notice. A notification will be sent only to the select people / group(s), and they will be the only people that can access the Notice.
